I need to get some things posted so this will be a hodge-podge of various news items from the past week or so.
Ashlyn is 9
Ashlyn turned 9 last week. She had a bunch of her friends over for a “Flower Power” party. They made flower bracelets, broke a flower pinata, and ate a cake that was shaped like a sunflower.
Ashlyn was excited to get such presents as clothes, a desk, and a “reading” chair.
Andrew is 14
Andrew turned 14 this week. I’m still a little shocked. How can I have a 14-year old? He also had a party with a bunch of his friends. They “shot off” a bunch of 2-liter bottles of diet coke with mentos, had a water-fight, and watched The Italian Job on a projection screen that I borrowed for the occasion.
Andrew mostly received lacrosse gear for his birthday including a “shot wall” which he can practice throwing and catching to his hearts content. He purchased a set of headphones called skullcrushers with some of his birthday money.
My garden
I tilled my garden on Saturday and harvested the bumper crop of rocks that grew there over the winter. Seriously I filled a wheel barrow with them. Where do they come from? I have a very small plot of about 10’ x 20’, but I like to plant lots of tomatoes. Haven’t decided what else though. I’m also preparing to put in a shed next to the garden.
