Broken Nose · Feb 14, 12:27 AM
My oldest son, Andrew, got has nose broken last Saturday. The picture is 3 days after the fact, so the swelling has gone down slightly and the black eyes are not quite so pronounced.
Andrew seems to be pretty proud of it. I think he’d like to say that he got it while playing lacrosse or from someone taking a swing at him, but this injury was sustained on a trampoline when, somehow, his nose and his knee met each other.
He was pretty sore on Saturday and Sunday. As far as I know, there’s not a whole lot that can be done about a broken nose other than possibly making sure it is set properly, so we didn’t take Andrew into the Doctor’s office until Monday night. The doctor took some x-rays and confirmed that it was indeed broken and (to Andrew’s relief) was pretty straight already and didn’t need to be reset.
I’ve never broken a bone in my body1. so I can only empathize with Andrew to a point, but it does look painful.
1 I did crack my head open once when I was little, but that’s just cracking and not actually breaking. To those that know me though, it does explain a few things.
