One Hundred Fifty-five Days · 315 days ago

Wow. One Hundred Fifty-five days since I last posted something. One Hundred Fifty-five days since I even looked at the site probably. I all but forgot that I have a site. So has everyone else that has ever visited, I’m sure. Well, maybe if some of you have added this site to your RSS feed then you’ll see that I’m still alive.

So let me explain what has been happening in the last One Hundred Fifty-five days…. not there is no time…. let me summarize…. no not even that. Here’s what’s going on in our lives:

At work I have a new web app going live on January 2nd (so no holiday for me). It’s a boring little app that will allow the hard core hunters in the state to enroll in a volunteer program that rewards them with the opportunity to hunt all three deer hunts here in Utah. It has them answer a few questions and then pay the enrollment fee, then print out their certificate of registration. Prior to this they had enroll with a paper form and stand in line to pay their money. The program is reaching it’s cap of 10,000 enrollee’s so we have to be a little more automated than that. Along with the new app, we are bringing a new app server on-line, as well as a new payment portal, and a new database server. As a programmer I love all of the potential for error between now and the new year.

On the home front we are all getting ready for Christmas. The biggest anticipation is the arrival of our 7th (and final) child. He (yes, another boy) is due on December 23rd, but the doc has mercifully planned to induce labor on the 15th. Kristi’s parents will be arriving to help (thankfully) and then stay through holidays. Kristi seems quite ready to have the baby. Maybe he’ll come even earlier, but we doubt it.

And finally, as if all of that wasn’t enough, ‘tis the season for tithing settlement which adds just a little bit more action to my wide open schedule. Luckily, it’s something that I enjoy and is more of a stress reliever than any of my other duties.

There…. I think that should do it for another One Hundred Fifty-five days.
